We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who are reliable, professional, emotionally mature and genuinely committed to providing high quality participant centred support.
Prior disability, community services or mental health industry experience is essential.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience supporting people with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- ADHD and other neurodivergent presentations
- Psychosocial disability and mental health conditions
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Intellectual disability
- Complex support needs
- Trauma backgrounds
- Behaviours of concern
- Participants experiencing periods of increased vulnerability or reduced functional capacity
Experience working with autistic participants, mental health and psychosocial disability is highly regarded.

- Can support participants through anxiety, distress or emotional dysregulation without escalating the situation
- Understand neurodivergence and adapt their communication style to the individual
- Encourage independence rather than creating unnecessary dependence
- Can recognise changes in a participant's presentation and appropriately report concerns
- Follow support plans, risk assessments and management directions
- Can work independently while still communicating effectively with the wider team
- Complete accurate, professional case notes and shift documentation
- Are comfortable receiving feedback and taking direction
- Understand the importance of participant choice and control
- Are proactive and can identify appropriate activities and opportunities based on a participant's goals
- Have good judgement and know when an issue needs to be escalated
- Can maintain appropriate relationships with participants, families, colleagues and management

Essential experience
Applicants must have previous paid experience working within the disability, mental health, psychosocial or community services sector.
This is not an entry level support worker position.
Applicants should be confident working independently in the community and have an understanding of professional responsibilities when supporting NDIS participants.

- Working collaboratively with families, Support Coordinators and allied health professionals
Must Have Qualifications such as: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or similar are highly regarded.

- Current comprehensive motor vehicle insurance
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working With Children Check where required
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- Full Australian working rights
- Previous paid experience working in the disability, mental health, psychosocial or community services sector
- Ability to provide at least two professional references
- Reliable mobile phone and access to email
- Ability to complete accurate case notes and shift documentation
- Ability to follow participant support plans, risk assessments and organisational policies
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy and professional boundaries
- Ability to work independently in participants’ homes and in the community
- Reliable availability and a strong commitment to attending rostered shifts
Applicants must also be comfortable transporting participants in their own vehicle when required.
Pay: $36.81 – $88.00 per hour
