About the Role
As a Psychologist, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes for consumers and their families/carers. In this senior clinical role, you will also provide supervision, consultation and clinical leadership, applying advanced knowledge and expertise to support best practice, service improvement and the ongoing development of assessment and treatment approaches.
Where You'll Be Working
The Hunter Valley & Lower Mid North Coast (HVLMNC) Mental Health Service comprises Care Coordination, Intake and Acute Care teams based across Taree, Forster, Gloucester, Bulahdelah and the Hunter Valley.
Our multidisciplinary outpatient service provides assessment, consultation, treatment and follow-up for adults experiencing mental health concerns, supporting both consumers and their families/carers. We play an important role in facilitating the transition from hospital to community care through medication monitoring, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, psychiatric review coordination and collaboration with community support services.
You'll receive a comprehensive Mental Health Service orientation, ongoing professional development opportunities, and support to undertake relevant in-house and external training.
About You
You are a motivated and collaborative psychologist with a strong commitment to contemporary mental health care. You enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and are supported by senior clinical leaders, the HVLMNC Service Manager, and a knowledgeable team of experienced professionals.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contemporary mental health practice, including intake, shared care models and consumer- and family-centred interventions.
- A sound understanding of trauma-informed care and its application when working with people experiencing mental health concerns and their families/carers.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build strong therapeutic and professional relationships with consumers, families/carers and key stakeholders.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for consumers and their families/carers.
Requirements:
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.

- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
