The opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our Duketon operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting the site maintenance function to achieve reliability and maintenance excellence across our processing operations.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies, driving defect elimination initiatives and providing technical leadership to maintenance teams. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering stakeholders, you will focus on improving asset performance, increasing equipment availability and delivering sustainable improvements in overall equipment effectiveness.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Developing and implementing reliability strategies across processing plant assets
Leading reliability improvement programs including Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Driving cross-functional defect elimination programs to improve asset reliability and availability
Analysing equipment failure data and implementing corrective and preventative actions
Ensuring maintenance strategies are translated into effective daily and weekly maintenance plans
Managing and optimising preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance programs
Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting asset lifecycle planning, equipment upgrades and commissioning activities
Monitoring reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR through the CMMS platform
Providing reliability reporting and recommendations to senior leadership
Ensuring compliance with safety, legislative and operational requirements
Providing technical guidance, coaching and development support to maintenance personnel
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or significant relevant trade-based experience with strong mechanical plant exposure
Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering within mining, minerals processing, manufacturing or heavy industry environments
Strong technical expertise across fixed plant assets, including pumps, conveyors, pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, heat exchangers and rotating equipment
Proven experience leading defect elimination programs and Root Cause Analysis investigations
Experience developing and optimising preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies
Knowledge of asset management and reliability methodologies including RCM and FMEA
Experience with critical equipment such as crushers, mills, compressors and gearboxes
Strong project management capability with experience balancing cost, risk, quality and schedule objectives
Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop maintenance teams while driving a culture of continuous improvement
