As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our team and support the company’s financial management, strategic growth, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Analyse and monitor company cash flow, including supplier and customer payment arrangements with major clients and partners such as Australia Post, Startrack, Toll, Allied Express, and international customers.
* Conduct financial and operational analysis to assess business performance, profitability, and investment opportunities, including interstate business expansion projects and fleet acquisition investments.
* Develop, maintain, and enhance internal control systems and accounting procedures, including invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
* Liaise with financial institutions, brokers, and external stakeholders regarding banking facilities, funding arrangements, and cash management strategies.
* Review financial records and reports to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and maintain compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare financial investigations, management reports, audits, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
* Ensure the maintenance and development of supplier relationships, and actively participate in rate negotiations with key suppliers, including shipping lines such as COSCO, OOCL, Evergreen, HMM, and Maersk, as well as terminals such as Hutchison, DP World, and Patrick.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management, shareholders, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting and Finance.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
* Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, GST, BAS, and financial reporting requirements.
* Experience with accounting software such as Xero and MYOB.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Experience within the transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or warehousing industry will be highly regarded.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
