M10 Truss Pty Ltd is a leading supplier and manufacturer of prefabricated timber roof trusses, wall frames and floor systems servicing residential and commercial construction projects throughout Victoria.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Building and Engineering Technician to join our team in Melbourne.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide technical support across the design, estimating, manufacturing and project coordination functions of the business. The role requires strong knowledge of timber truss and frame construction systems and the ability to interpret engineering and architectural documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings for timber roof truss, wall frame and floor system projects.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, production information and material specifications.
- Conduct material take-offs, quantity assessments and project estimates.
- Assist in the coordination of manufacturing requirements to ensure products are produced in accordance with approved designs and Australian Standards.
- Liaise with builders, engineers, contractors, suppliers and internal production teams regarding technical requirements and project specifications.
- Monitor product quality and compliance throughout manufacturing and installation processes.
- Identify and resolve technical issues relating to structural building components.
- Assist with project scheduling, workflow planning and production coordination.
- Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation and compliance reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to quality, efficiency and workplace safety.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or higher qualification in Building, Engineering, Construction Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience in building products, timber truss and frame, construction engineering support, estimating or detailing.
- Ability to interpret engineering, architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry software applications.
Highly Desirable
- Experience using MiTek, Sapphire, Pryda Build, Multinail or similar truss design software.
- Experience within prefabricated timber truss and frame manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Australian Building Codes and relevant Australian Standards.
