About the position:
To construct and/or maintain Council’s road network and other assets to the required service level standards, while working in a team environment and provide labour support as required.

Key responsibilities
Concreting and Drainage Operations
Undertake preparation and procedures for the following operations:
-
Setting up formwork
-
Placing reinforcement
-
Pouring and finishing of concrete
-
Pipe laying
Plant Operations
-
Safely operate and maintain Council’s plant and equipment as per the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Council’s policies and procedures
-
Undertake daily servicing and maintenance for plant, equipment and machinery to ensure optimal capacity and efficiency levels and to avoid unscheduled operational downtime
-
Maintain plant records as per Council’s Integrated Maranoa Management System (IMMS) and plant management policies and procedures
-
Provide skilled plant operation to assist with maintenance requirements such as repairs, renewals and upgrades
Construction and Maintenance
-
Undertake general labouring duties and participate in multi-skilled plant operator team tasks

Perform general plant, equipment and site maintenance during non-production or when required
-
Site preparation and clean up
-
Set-up, maintenance, and collection of traffic control signage as per Council’s traffic control plans
-
Operate a variety of handheld tools and machinery
-
Completion of relevant Integrated Maranoa Management System (IMMS) forms and checklists
Labour Support
-
Undertake general labour duties and participate in multi-skilled team tasks as required.

Perform work site preparation and clean up.
-
Setting up traffic control signage as per Council’s traffic control plans.
Interdepartmental Support
-
Complete tasks required to ensure Council’s Service Level Agreements (SLA) is met between other Departments and Directorates within Council.
