About the Role
This is an entry-level, customer-facing role ensuring the efficient operation of our sales department. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the end-to-end process for automotive and heavy commercial vehicle diagnostic tool sales, as well as providing exceptional post-sales support, and assisting with inbound customer communications. Because there's more to the day than the phone, this role will also be contributing to ensuring our product information and data is in great shape. It's an all-rounder role that will suit an outgoing, energetic person who enjoys talking to people and has a head for detail and spreadsheets.
Plus get involved in product & brand management, working directly with senior management to drive new product development, product updates and deletion of products. Assist in the development and execution of advertising and promotional campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Communications: act as a first point of contact for customers. Answer inbound phone calls and manage the sales inbox, responding to enquiries promptly and professionally.
2. Diagnostic Tools: manage the demo process for truck scan tools and liaise with customers on subscription renewals.
3. Sales Support: prepare quotes, invoices and contracts, and handle sales-related documentation and communication.
4. Product & Data Management: keep our product information current. Add and catalogue new products, maintain price files, and update product records and databases (much of this in Excel). Prepare sales reports and presentations as needed.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with Accounting, Sales and Operations to ensure a seamless sales process and a positive customer experience.
6. Process Improvement: identify and propose improvements to enhance the efficiency of the sales department.
Qualifications & Skills
- An outgoing, sociable personality: you enjoy talking with a wide range of people and are comfortable and confident on the phone.
- Clear and fluent communication in both spoken and written English.
- A positive, can-do attitude, strong multitasking ability and a genuine desire to learn new skills.
- Efficient and quick to complete work, with strong problem-solving skills and an inquiring mind.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with data and spreadsheets.
- A genuine interest in, or affinity for, the automotive sector (preferred). Experience in automotive (such as in sales, parts, administration, service, maintenance or engineering) is highly regarded but not essential.
- A degree in business, commerce, IT, engineering or a related field is well regarded, but not essential if you have relevant automotive experience.
- The legal right to work in Australia.
What We Offer
Salary: Competitive salary depending on skills and experience.
Work Schedule: Permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday (generally 8:30 am to 5:00 pm), with no weekend work required. We're open to discussing flexible arrangements for the right person.
Work Location: In-person at Scoresby, VIC 3179. This is a fully on-site role, so candidates who can reliably commute from the local area (or nearby suburbs) are preferred.
