DUTY MANAGER

We have an opportunity for a Part Time / Casual Duty Manager to join our team With positions available at both Newtown and Bell Post Hill. The Duty Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of our store and will have the added responsibility of opening & closing the facility as required in a shared roster between all store Duty Managers.
Reporting to the Store Manager, the focus of this hands-on role includes staff management, store presentation, stock management, administration and most importantly customer service. The position will require applicants to have daytime availability and is therefore not suitable for students currently attending high school, who are discouraged from applying.
To be successful in this position you will need to be available to work on Friday and Saturday nights!
Our ideal candidate will have the following capabilities, with on the job training to be provided as required:
- A proven history of providing excellent customer service with a high level of integrity
- Great communication skills, written and verbal
- Flexibility with working hours and the ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Be physically capable of undertaking occasional lifting and being on your feet for long periods of time
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff and customers
- Excellent organisational skills and strong problem solving ability
- Self-motivated with the ability to guide, develop and motivate others
- Highly flexible, adaptable and decisive. Able to react quickly to issues which arise
- Willingness to provide hands-on support to the team on a day to day basis to help meet store and customer needs
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Supermarket &/or retail management experience viewed as beneficial but not essential
- Experience in the supervision of staff viewed as beneficial but not essential
