About the Department
Coral Ward (4C) or The Monash Children’s Cancer and Haematology Centre (MCCHC) is a specialist paediatric cancer and haematology service located within Monash Children’s Hospital. Caring for approximately 30% of Victoria’s paediatric cancer patients, the Centre provides comprehensive inpatient and ambulatory care across a 16-bed inpatient ward and 12-bed day treatment service. The integrated model brings together specialist oncology and haematology care, nurse-led and multidisciplinary clinics, and day treatment services, providing nurses with the opportunity to develop expertise across a diverse range of paediatric cancer and haematology presentations.
About the Role
Join our team as a Registered Nurse Grade 2 on a part time, ongoing basis to work at Monash Children's Hospital, based in Clayton. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of Tayn Martindale, Nurse Manager and working with the broader Coral Ward (4C) nursing team.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to paediatric oncology and haematology patients, including:
Conducting assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and in partnership with patients, their families and carers
Monitoring patients for critical changes related to cancer and haematological treatment, initiating appropriate emergency procedures and escalating concerns to the Manager as needed
Supporting timely discharge planning to facilitate a safe and effective transition between inpatient, day treatment and home-based care
Maintaining accurate, current medical records in line with professional and legal documentation standards
This role requires the ability to work a rotating roster across day, evening and night duty shifts, and the flexibility to move across multiple Monash Health sites as required.

An awareness of your own values and beliefs surrounding healthcare, with the ability to identify and respect alternative views
Mandatory requirements of the role:
Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
