Role: Production Manager
Position: Full Time Permanent
Salary: $80,000 to 95,000 per annum, plus 12% super
Location: O Connor , WA 6163
Role: Responsible to plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the production activities of the business.
Job Duties:
- Formulate, execute, and evaluate production strategies, policies, and plans that align with organisational goals, ensuring optimal efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily tortilla production, develop and adjust production schedules for efficiency and minimal waste, manage cost control, ensure adequate supply of raw materials and packaging, and optimise time and labour allocation.
- Supervise plant operations, including monitoring workflow, troubleshooting bottlenecks, ensuring adherence to quality procedures, planning maintenance schedules, managing operating hours, and securing the timely availability of essential parts and tools.
- Monitor production output and costs, making necessary adjustments to processes and resources to minimise expenses while maximising productivity. Control raw material usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Effectively communicate production-related matters to senior management and relevant departments, ensuring strategic alignment and smooth operational coordination.
- Oversee the acquisition, installation, and integration of new production plant and equipment to enhance operational efficiency and production capabilities.
- Lead research into innovative production methods, assess their effectiveness, and implement initiatives to improve productivity and product quality. Work with suppliers to explore new ingredients or tortilla varieties.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports, ensuring thorough data collection and analysis for informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement and monitor OH&S policies, conduct risk assessments, and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Ensure all staff follow workplace safety regulations (WorkSafe WA).
- Direct staff activities, recruit, train, and develop employees to enhance productivity, monitor performance, and implement development strategies to maintain high levels of efficiency and morale.
- Manage and monitor production quality control systems to ensure tortillas meet company specifications, food safety requirements and customer expectations.
- Oversee inspections of production lines, packaging and storage processes, analyse quality issues and implement corrective actions to maintain consistent product standards.
- Oversee the operation, reliability and maintenance of production machinery, including grinders, mixers, tortilla production ovens and packaging equipment.
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and equipment servicing, and implement process improvements to minimise downtime, increase production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align production with demand, ensure correct labeling and packaging according to Australian food regulations, and support new product development based on market trends and customer feedback
Requirements:
Minimum qualification required is a Bachelor degree or higher qualification with 1 years of relevant work experience. Five years relevant experience will be considered suitable in place of the above qualification

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
