About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Support Services Manager to join our team and provide leadership, oversight and support for the physical environment and support services across Roshana Care Group’s residential aged care homes.
Based at our Head Office in Burswood, Western Australia, this is a full-time position with a requirement to regularly travel to our aged care homes across Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria.
Working closely with Facility Managers, maintenance teams, contractors and the broader Operations team, the Environmental Support Services Manager will be responsible for ensuring our homes provide a safe, well-maintained, welcoming and high-quality environment for our residents, families and employees.
The role will have a strong focus on environmental standards, maintenance systems, property presentation, preventative maintenance, contractor performance, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and support to aged care homes in relation to environmental services, maintenance and property standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify maintenance, environmental, presentation and safety issues requiring action.
- Support Facility Managers and site maintenance teams to maintain consistently high environmental standards.
- Monitor planned and preventative maintenance programs and ensure required works and servicing are completed within appropriate timeframes.
- Review outstanding maintenance requests and support sites with prioritisation and timely resolution.
- Coordinate and monitor external contractors and service providers to ensure quality, safety and value for money.
- Monitor the condition and presentation of resident rooms, communal areas, external areas, gardens and grounds.
- Identify opportunities to improve the resident environment, amenity and overall presentation of our aged care homes.
- Support environmental compliance, workplace health and safety requirements and relevant aged care regulatory standards.
- Monitor scheduled servicing, testing and maintenance of building systems and essential services.
- Assist with the coordination and monitoring of repairs, refurbishment works, minor capital projects and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Support sites in preparing for accreditation, audits and regulatory visits in relation to environmental and property requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Facility Managers and operational teams to develop and monitor action plans arising from inspections, audits and identified risks.
- Assist with reviewing contractor arrangements, service standards and performance across the organisation.
- Promote consistent environmental and maintenance standards across all Roshana Care Group aged care homes.
- Provide advice and practical support to Facility Managers in managing environmental, maintenance and property-related matters.
- Perform other duties and projects as required to support the organisation’s operational objectives.
Skills, Attributes and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in environmental services, property services, maintenance management, building services or a similar role.
- Previous experience within aged care, healthcare, retirement living or another multi-site environment will be highly regarded.
- Experience working across multiple locations or sites is desirable.
- Strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers and external service providers.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety and environmental risk management.
- Understanding of aged care standards and regulatory requirements would be highly regarded.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and safety.
- Practical and solutions-focused approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with Facility Managers, employees, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a broader operational team.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Ability and willingness to undertake regular interstate travel across WA, QLD, NSW, SA and VIC.
