What you'll be doing:
The Rural Innovation and Research Coordinator will build innovation and research translation capability and opportunity across rural settings within Hunter New England Local Health District by providing education, training and mentoring to support health service-led innovation and research activity. Based in one of our rural sites, the role will facilitate collaborative innovation and research translation projects that respond to local health service needs, population health priorities and opportunities for improvement across rural and regional communities. The overall vision is for the Coordinator to ensure staff and collaborators in rural settings have access to innovation and research support, contributing to the development of a learning health system across Hunter New England LHD, where evidence, innovation, improvement and research are embedded into everyday practice to improve patient, staff and community outcomes.
About you:
You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience, with demonstrated understanding of health service operations and health services research design and methodologies. You will bring knowledge and experience in implementation science, improvement science and research translation, along with a proven track record in designing, conducting and disseminating research, innovation or quality improvement projects. You will also have experience successfully translating research findings, evidence-based practice and new models of care into policy and practice, including evaluating their impact. High level written and verbal communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, managers, researchers, consumers and other key stakeholders.
