A little about the role
As the Operations Manager, you will effectively develop, manage and promote the fostering service within NSW in line with regulatory requirements and Key Assets’ strategic plan.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the Social Work activities of the team meet relevant legislative requirements.
- Ensuring and monitoring compliance in relation to Case Plans, Placement Agreements, and Foster Carer Reviews, taking appropriate action where shortfalls are identified.
- Provide line management to Team Managers and any other relevant staff as required.
- Monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster Carers, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
- Observe and implement, as appropriate, child protection, safeguarding procedures and inform the Assistant Director and/or State Director immediately of any child protection, safeguarding concerns or reportable conduct issues.
- Participate in negotiations between Key Assets and the Department to ensure that each child or young person placed is carefully matched with a Foster Carer capable of meeting their needs.
- Attend and represent Key Assets New South Wales at external forums, meetings and Community Services’ planning meetings.
- Assist in managing the agreed annual operational budget.
The base salary for this position is $135,343.00 - $140,674.04 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. This position is full-time, ongoing.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will come with:
- A recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
- Prior experience with family placement or children’s services in a management capacity.
- At least 5 years’ experience working directly with children and young people in the care system.
- A comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to children’s services.
- The ability to communicate at all levels, influence, engage, negotiate, mediate and build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
