Full-Time | Leadership Role | Wholesale Food Service
Good Food Distributors is a well-established wholesale food service company supplying premium meat and specialty products to restaurants, clubs, hotels and hospitality venues across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Central and Mid North Coast.
We are seeking an experienced Butcher or Knife Hand to be part of our cutting room operations and oversee day-to-day meat production within our busy wholesale facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or work a part team of butchers and production staff
- Participate in daily workflow and allocate production tasks
- Portion cutting and large-scale order preparation
- Oversee wholesale meat processing operations
- Ensure HACCP and OH&S compliance
- Manage stock control and ordering
- Receive and check incoming deliveries
- Maintain quality control and presentation standards
- Train and mentor team members
Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive experience in the meat industry
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong wholesale or retail butchery background
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- Sound understanding of food safety standards and compliance
- Ability to manage production timelines and workflow
Wholesale experience and portion cutting expertise will be highly regarded.
The Position
- Full-time role
- 5 to 5.5 days per week
- Early starts typical of production environments
- Salary package negotiable based on experience
