Casual Job Opportunity
We are looking for an experience disability support worker to join our small team! We are looking for someone patient, reliable, respectful, and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support. You value independence, dignity, and inclusion and enjoy building positive, supportive relationships.
This is an active support role and requires a support worker who is genuinely engaged throughout the shift. The successful applicant will be expected to actively participate in activities, support communication and skill development, and build a positive connection with the participant. This is not a passive supervision role; we are looking for someone who enjoys being present, interactive, and involved rather than spending significant time on their phone or other personal devices during support hours.
Hours:
This role currently offers approximately 5 hours per week.
Monday afternoons 2:50pm - 5:30pm
Tuesday mornings 7:30am - 9:30am (Must be willing to do early mornings, consistent cancelations will work with the families needs)
The successful applicant must also have availability to take on additional hours during July, August, and September, with the possibility of further opportunities beyond this period.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in disability support with complex behaviour and non-speaking people (professional or substantial lived experience).
- Lived experience with disability, neurodiversity, or caring responsibilities highly regarded/preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, compassionate, and person-centred approach.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Community access and social participation.
- Assistance with daily living activities as required.
- Transport.
- Encouraging independence and supporting personal goals.
- Providing respectful and individualised support.
Pay rate will be determined based on experience, with the opportunity to move up pay levels based on willingness to learn, reliability and more.
