Primary objective
Delivery of quality and evidence-based program management that enables the delivery of strategic reform programs and
decision making for the Department of Education and Training (the department).
Context statement
The Reform Delivery team supports the delivery of high priority, strategic reform across the department. The team
collaborates with all divisions across the department to deliver reform programs that support the department’s strategy and
improve educational outcomes for students across the Northern Territory. This includes managing key strategic projects and
supporting the department, regions and schools to implement reform.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support the development and management of key departmental programs including through project planning,
governance, monitoring, and reporting.
2. Undertake critical activities to support program delivery across NT regions and schools, including stakeholder
engagement and communications.
3. Support the development of key program outputs to support the department’s reform agenda and ensure accountability
to the public.
4. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver education policy
reform across the Territory.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to use strategic, conceptual and analytical skills to support complex program delivery
2. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex matters
through verbal and written briefings.
3. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders,
including the ability to collaborate with people from diverse cultures.
4. Experience in the development and operationalisation of strategic reform, including developing materials and plans to
support the achievement of reform objectives.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management and secretariat functions.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of education systems and the strategic direction of the Department of Education and Training and Northern
Territory Government.
