The Role
As part of our assembly team, you will be responsible for applying engineering, fitting and assembly techniques to fabricate, build, and inspect high-performance mechanical components and finished sub-assemblies.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies and finished products in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, parts lists, and Safe Work Instructions to determine assembly requirements.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, testing equipment, and specialized workshop machinery to perform mechanical fitting and assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
- Perform precision fitting, fastening, alignment, adjustment, calibration, and soldering of mechanical components to achieve required engineering tolerances and operational standards.
- Identify and report assembly issues, material shortages, manufacturing defects, equipment faults and non-conformances, supporting corrective repairs as required
- Installing, repairing, inspecting, replacing, fitting, and adjusting mechanical parts and components
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections on completed assemblies and equipment to ensure quality and conformance with design specifications.
- Accurately complete production, maintenance, quality, and testing documentation in accordance with company procedures and engineering standards.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
- A relevant AQF Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade), an equivalent international qualification or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
- Proven experience in mechanical fitting, component assembly, automotive or manufacturing/production environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical documentation.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities.
- Understanding of quality systems and controlled manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency using specialized mechanical tools, hand/power tools, and precise engineering measurement equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of strict quality assurance and safety processes.
