Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
What is needed?
As Project Engineer- CSR, you will coordinate on-site Combined Services Route (CSR) construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.
We are seeking people for our Illabo to Stockinbingal project (I2S) willing to explore a new opportunity in regional NSW.
This role will be a 2:1 Roster based on site in Cootamundra and surrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer CSR construction engineering activities to ensure that works are implemented in accordance with approved plans, designs and specifications
- Assist with the preparation of CSR construction budgets and reports
- Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Area Manager
- Interpret CSR designs for constructability
- Contribute to improvements to CSR design packages during the design development stages
- Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders and procurement requisitions relating to the CSR works
- Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
- Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
- Execute working knowledge of contractual, legislation and compliance with Railway asset owner Standards applicable to the CSR construction works
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of installed CSR works
- Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors and supervisors to achieve outcomes
- Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management
