Salary package: $121,598 - $137,870 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Fixed Term (up to September 2028)
This position is a fixed term appointment to contribute to the ARC project "AI Planning: The Next Generation” and to develop Machine Learning methods and other techniques to improve state-of-the-art planners for a variety of planning scenarios, e.g. deterministic planning and planning under uncertainty.
Candidates should be familiar with the area of Automated Planning and knowledge in ML is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be based at ANU working under the supervision of Associate Professor Felipe Trevizan and Professor Sylvie Thiebaux, and collaborate with our large Automated Planning group and Machine Learning group. The candidate will be integral to all aspects of the research program in this project including direct research, student supervision, publication and publicity activities, code development, and collaboration with industry, open source, and academic partners. The Automated Planning group is a world leading research group in the development of foundational theory, algorithms and technology for planning and scheduling. They will contribute to, and in some cases lead, open-source projects working within the team. There will be an opportunity to undertaken independent research activities within the constraints of the project commitments as well.
