The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Business Development Manager – Hybrid & Energy Solutions to join our growing Sales Department and support the continued expansion of our renewable energy portfolio.
This role is focused on developing new business opportunities for our battery energy storage systems, hybrid power solutions and renewable energy products across Australia. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, an established network within the industry, a proven ability to identify and secure new business opportunities, and experience developing strategies to drive sales growth within the renewable energy or energy storage sector.
A background in renewable energy, battery storage, electrical engineering, electrical contracting, or a related technical field will be highly regarded, as the successful candidate will be required to understand and communicate the technical specifications, applications and benefits of our products.
The role requires regular travel to meet with customers, consultants, EPC contractors and industry partners, as well as visiting our various locations throughout Australia.
Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be able to:
- Actively pursue and develop direct customer relationships, creating new sales opportunities and projects through regular field sales and onsite visits across Australia, with a focus on battery energy storage systems, hybrid power solutions and renewable energy applications.
- Identify new markets, strategic partnerships and emerging opportunities within the renewable energy, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
- Support the development of targeted marketing campaigns to increase awareness of Powerlink's battery and renewable energy solutions, strengthening brand recognition and market share.
- Provide sales support to direct customers, distributors, EPC contractors, consultants and other business partners.
- Assist in the development and successful launch of new battery, energy storage and renewable energy products into the Australian market.
- Collaborate with other Powerlink departments across the regional and global network to deliver integrated energy solutions and achieve business objectives.
- Assist in developing sales forecasts and budgets for applicable regions and renewable product categories.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales activities, project pipelines, key accounts and business development opportunities using the company's CRM system.
Key Competencies
The following competencies will be highly regarded:
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated experience in business development or sales management within the renewable energy, battery storage, electrical or power generation industries, with a proven network within the industry.
- Strong understanding of battery energy storage systems (BESS), hybrid power systems, renewable energy technologies or related electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to analyse market trends, identify commercial opportunities and present strategic recommendations to the Sales Director and senior management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Confidence in providing technical guidance and product support regarding battery storage, renewable energy and hybrid power solutions via phone, online meetings and onsite visits.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout Australia.
