Shape the future of Defence logistics with Toll Group.
Are you ready to apply your analytical skills to a role that directly supports Australia’s Defence capability? At Toll Group, we are proud to be expanding our Government and Defence portfolio through the Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract.
We’re looking for skilled Business Analysts/Business Operations Planner to help drive operational efficiency, service excellence, and continuous improvement across multiple Defence sites nationwide.
Based at Royal Military College in ACT, you’ll play a critical hybrid role supporting both operational execution and continuous improvement across the DWDSS contract. This is primarily an operations planning–focused role, with a strong emphasis translating data to influence and help direct outcomes throughout the operations, you will thrive in an environment where you can influence at all levels of the organisation.
Acting as a key link between frontline operations, commercial, and Defence stakeholders, the role ensures effective service delivery while identifying opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, and compliance. The position contributes to both daily operational outcomes and longer-term strategic improvements aligned to contract KPIs and Defence expectations.
This description serves as a guideline, and management may assign additional tasks to support business needs and growth.
Key Accountabilities
Planning and coordination of logistics support activities across Defence operations.
Day-to-day operational support including reporting, documentation, and system accuracy.
Data analysis to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Performance reporting, KPI tracking, and operational insights for stakeholders.
Maintaining integrity across Defence systems, registers, and documentation.
Stakeholder engagement across Defence personnel, site operations, and internal teams.
Supporting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Translating operational realities into actionable plans and recommendations.
Responsibilities
Deliver day-to-day administrative and coordination support to operational teams.
Maintain registers, documentation, and data integrity across multiple systems.
Prepare reports, meeting packs, and operational documentation.
Support workforce onboarding and compliance processes.
Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement.
Develop reports and performance insights (e.g. KPI tracking).
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvement opportunities.
Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Non-Negotiables
You can juggle planning, reporting, stakeholder requests, and improvement work at the same time — without dropping the ball.
You’re comfortable in a Defence environment. Structured, process-driven, and high accountability doesn’t faze you.
You don’t sit back waiting for direction. You anticipate issues, connect the dots, and act early.
You’re detail obsessed. Data accuracy, system integrity, and documentation matter to you.
You can walk onto a site, talk to operators, and then step into a meeting and brief stakeholders clearly.
You understand that good planning isn’t theory — it’s execution that works in the real world.
Pre-Requisites
Mature professional with experience in operations planning and/or logistics support.
Background in Defence logistics or Defence industry is highly desirable but working in complex contract management operational environments (preferred).
Experience with Defence Stocktaking and ERP systems (e.g. MILIS, SAP).
Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain NV1 clearance (current NV1 highly desirable).

Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into insight and action.
Experience producing reports, tracking KPIs, and supporting decision-making.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Strong communication skills — able to engage both frontline teams and senior stakeholders.
Australian Citizenship with eligibility for NV1 clearance (required).
