About the Opportunity
This position will assist Mine Surveyors with providing survey requirements for the underground mine operations, surface infrastructure and exploration, working to safety, health and social responsibility standards and procedures.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assist with the maintenance of a reliable survey control network (underground and surface) that will seamlessly operate within the mining cycle.
- Assist with the accurate and timely provision of survey control including set out and pickup of activities to enable production and development requirements to be carried out efficiently.
- Collect, record and evaluate survey information and help prepare databases, maps and plans that will assist mining and site teams with daily and weekly production plans.
- Support these plans being implemented and completed.
Location and Roster
- FIFO from Perth, Darwin, or Broome; or DIDO from Onslow, Exmouth, Karratha, or Dampier.
- Paulsens is located in the Ashburton Basin, Eastern Pilbara — 211 km inland from Onslow and 180 km west of Paraburdoo.
- Flights are to Onslow or Paraburdoo, followed by a two-hour bus to site.
- Roster: 15/13, day shift only.
About You
- Diploma in Mine Surveying (minimum).
- Experience as a Survey Technician, preferably with underground exposure, would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge in mine surveying software with exposure to or experience using Deswik (or ability to learn quickly and efficiently) is desirable.
Overall, we are seeking a positive and motivated ‘can do’ individual with good spatial awareness, an ability to integrate skillfully within the working environment, attention to detail, robust analytical skills and an ability to build strong and collaborative relationships across site.
