Position Overview
SA Auto Electrics is seeking a highly experienced Level 3 Auto Electrician to join their Adelaide-based team. This role focuses on advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems across heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and mobile plant in both workshop and field service environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and fault-finding on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles
- Repair and install electrical systems including wiring, lighting, sensors, and control modules
- Diagnose and repair CAN bus systems and electronic control units (ECUs)
- Install aftermarket accessories (GPS tracking, dual battery systems, lighting upgrades)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
- Provide mobile field service across Metro Adelaide as required
- Ensure all work complies with Australian safety standards
- Mentor apprentices and junior technicians
- Maintain detailed service reports and job records
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with heavy machinery, trucks, and 4WD electrical systems
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with scan tools and diagnostic software
- Ability to work independently and manage field service jobs
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and safety-focused
- Must be fluent in English in both oral and written communications
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (manual preferred)
- ARC licence (desirable but not essential)
- High-risk tickets (forklift, EWP) – advantageous

Company Car Package available for the right candidate.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
