The Opportunity
We are seeking applicants for the position of a Digest Shift Supervisor at Bureau Veritas at Wingfield in Adelaide, SA. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of their shift in digest, working to achieve production targets in line with company safety and quality guidelines, responsible for the actions of the 2IC, Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants and to help train, develop and coach staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- CWork to Bureau Veritas QHSE standards
- Follow and adhere to laboratory methods and safety requirements
- Operate and monitor digest samples, ensuring optimal performance
- Assist in reviewing processes to improve safety, quality and productivity
- Supervise and lead a team
- Support and drive the team to achieve daily production targets
- Good analytical skills to make safe and sound judgements
- Maintain good laboratory housekeeping
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ensure procedures are followed and quality standards are met
About you
- Enthusiastic demeanour and willing to learn
- Reliable, keen to work and flexible to work overtime when required
- Ability to motivate others to achieve desired outcomes
- A good working knowledge of wet chemistry and laboratory procedures
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to manage a number of staff in the daily operation of a laboratory environment
- Able to work unsupervised either individually or in a team environment
- Ability to priortise work, in accordance with managers general work priority guidelines
- Physically fit and willing to perform manual handling tasks
- Effective communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking ability
- Behavioural judgement, initiative and maturity.
