The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for the preparation, installation, and finishing of wall
and floor tiling systems across residential and commercial construction projects undertaken
by The Nurmahal Group Pty Ltd. The role ensures high-quality workmanship, compliance with Australian
Standards, and timely completion of projects.
Tasks Include:
- Setting out work by reading plans, measuring, marking surfaces to achieve best practice outcomes
- Wall and floor preparation by making sure that they are clear of old materials, cracks and holes filled and surfaces cleaned.
- Selection, mixing and spreading of the appropriate adhesives and placing tiles in position.
- Use of tiling tools for cutting, grinding and shaping tiles as needed for edges, corners and for around fixtures and fittings.
- Placing tiles to ensure they are correctly placed including alignment, spacing and fall when required.
- Selection, mixing and spreading of the appropriate grout and cleaning and removing excess grout and polishing of surfaces to remove residue once dry
- Preparation and applying of waterproofing membrane including scrim as required.
- May lay many different types, sizes and styles of tiles in varied patterns from
straight, diagonal or to create mosaics

Experience and skills required:
- Certificate III in Tiling or Equivalent
- Highly developed skills laying tiles of various sizes, textures and materials
- Demonstrated ability to lay mosaic tiles
- Attention to detail
- Developed interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to undertake responsibility for a range of activities;
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative when procedures are not clearly defined;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
