TL $90,879 - $128,887 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)

The Hospitality, Cookery and Patisserie department provides a progressive, innovative and supportive teaching environment with strong industry links and partnerships. Courses and programs range from Certificate to Diploma level qualifications, apprenticeships and traineeships and are in the workplace or delivered through purpose-built fully operational training facilities, including, Zest Restaurant and commercial kitchens at the Glen Waverley campus. Courses include Nationally accredited programs as well as industry-based skills sets in areas of Hospitality, Cookery, Kitchen Management, Patisserie and Bakery. The Hospitality, Cookery and Patisserie department participates in a range of industry competitions, site visits and expos elevating the student experience which can assist with career pathways in education as well as the industry.
As a Teacher – Hospitality Workplace Traineeships, you will help shape the next generation of hospitality professionals. In this hands-on role, you will deliver engaging, high-quality training across workplace, classroom and on-the-job settings, supporting trainees from enrolment through to successful completion.
Drawing on your hospitality and retail experience, you will build strong relationships with trainees, employers, industry partners and teaching teams to create practical learning experiences that reflect real workplace expectations. You will also contribute to course coordination, student support, compliance, assessment, and continuous improvement to ensure training remains relevant, supportive and industry-focused.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys teaching, mentoring and helping learners build confidence, capability and career-ready skills.
As a Teacher, you will:

Design, develop, and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies that effectively support the diverse needs of learners. This includes the creation of high-quality learning resources and the completion of related educational administrative tasks.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learners attendance and performance, ensuring all results and learner information are recorded in accordance with institutional requirements.

Contribute to internal and external audit processes by sourcing, preparing, and providing relevant documentation and information as required.

Promote and support an inclusive learning environment, offering appropriate guidance and assistance to students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds and with varying abilities.

Establish and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that supports early student engagement, fosters connection with the academic and social environment, reduces attrition, and promotes student success.
To be successful, you’ll have:

An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed. i.e. SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management; and

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or its successor; or
-
An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or
-
A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:
- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.

Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.
WWCC and Police Check:
Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
