Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations, the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.

Cafe Attendant/Barista
This permanent part-time role and offers an immediate start with 26 hours per week, worked across four weekdays (flexible) from 8.00am to 3.00pm. Additional hours may be available through weekend café shifts and supporting events at The Views.
You'll be based primarily at Caps Café in Port Melbourne, preparing coffee and serving regular customers from the local community, getting to know staff at LSV Headquarters and, from time to time, supporting event guests attending functions upstairs at The Views.
About the role:
In this role, you will:

Prepare and serve high‑quality barista made coffee and a range of beverages

Provide friendly, professional customer service to members, staff and visitors

Assist with food service, basic food preparation and product display
-
Operate the POS system and manage cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
-
Maintain cafe cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards

Support events and functions at The Views when required

Follow all food safety, workplace safety and LSV policies and procedures
About You
You will bring a positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven barista experience and confidence making coffee independently

Experience working in a café or food and beverage environment

Strong customer service and communication skills
-
The ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment without supervision

Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends and occasional event shifts
-
A team‑focused, can‑do approach to your work

A valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
