Kareena Private Hospital is a dynamic acute care 142 bed facility. Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Occupational Therapist to join our friendly Allied Health team on a casual basis (1-2 days per week). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives by helping them develop, recover, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and meaningful participation in their communities. You will work in a collaborative, supportive environment where innovation and client-centered care are at the forefront of everything we do.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA

Experience working in a hospital is not essential but will be highly regarded

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritise a busy clinical caseload alongside associated administrative responsibilities within a hospital setting

Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider broader clinical implications and longer-term patient outcomes

Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop client-centred, occupation-focused intervention plans in collaboration with patients, the multidisciplinary team, and consulting medical staff

Participate in quality service improvement activities within the Occupational Therapy Department, and relevant research to continually improve patient/client care

Develop clinical practice tools and facilitate learning within the team, by engaging in professional development activities
