Job Description:
The Integrity Lead serves as the Kwinana Energy Hub Inspection Authority and is accountable for the governance, assurance and continuous improvement of the site's asset integrity management program for fixed equipment and piping systems. The role provides independent technical assurance that inspection, maintenance and testing programs are effective in verifying the ongoing safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical equipment, and that integrity risks are appropriately identified, assessed, managed and escalated. The Integrity Lead leads the Plant Inspection team, drives conformance with OMS 5.4 and GDP 5.4-3230 requirements, and supports long-term asset integrity, reliability and process safety outcomes for the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the designated Inspection Authority for fixed equipment, piping, tanks and associated integrity-managed assets across KEH.
Lead and develop the Plant Inspection team, ensuring appropriate capability, competency, succession planning and workload prioritisation to deliver inspection and integrity objectives.
Maintain and continuously improve inspection, maintenance and testing programs for critical equipment to ensure conformance with GDP 5.4-3230, OMS 5.4, statutory requirements and recognised industry standards.
Verify that inspection, maintenance and testing requirements are established, implemented and periodically reviewed, including escalation of non-conformances and gaps.
Ensure inspection, corrosion management, condition monitoring and equipment strategies are maintained and updated to support safe and reliable operation throughout asset life.
Provide technical leadership and oversight of fitness-for-service assessments, remaining life evaluations, repair recommendations, re-ratings and integrity risk evaluations for in-service equipment.
Review and approve inspection strategy changes, technical deviations, repairs and integrity-based deferrals in accordance with site and bp governance requirements.
Verify that formal deferral processes are applied when inspection, maintenance or testing activities are postponed and approve inspection deferral due dates where delegated.
Escalate integrity threats, overdue inspection activities, deterioration mechanisms and equipment conditions that could impact safe, reliable or compliant operation.
Ensure integrity recommendations, inspection findings and corrective actions are risk-ranked, tracked and closed within agreed timeframes.
Verify that the inspection workforce, contractors and inspection service providers are appropriately resourced and competent to perform inspection and testing activities.
Maintain integrity management systems, inspection databases, inspection records and documentation to support assurance, audits and statutory obligations.
Support management of major integrity risks and barrier health associated with mechanical integrity, including participation in risk reviews, incident investigations, audits and assurance activities.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Process Safety and bp central teams to develop long-term equipment strategies, turnaround scopes and risk reduction plans that improve asset integrity performance.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Materials and Corrosion)
Preferably Chartered engineer with IEAust or Equivalent
Demonstrated experience working in petrochemical facilities, managing maintenance & inspection standards and procedures
Demonstrated ability in assessing internal degradation and conducting Fitness for Service assessments, including those involving maintainability.
Strong understanding and application of Engineering codes, standards, and practices.
In-depth knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Experience in the Selection and Design of Equipment with an integrity focus.
Proficiency in Managing Performance and providing constructive feedback.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
