Pizza Boccone is a popular Italian restaurant located in the heart of Potts Point, specialising in authentic wood-fired pizzas and traditional Italian cuisine. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus, including seasonal specials and traditional Italian dishes, and assist in estimating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies.
- Prepare, cook and present a range of pizzas, pasta dishes, entrées and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Discuss food preparation requirements and kitchen operations with management and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff regarding food preparation procedures and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure the proper storage, freezing and preservation of food items to minimise wastage.
- Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff and maintain effective teamwork during busy service periods.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control and presentation while working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management and Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant full time work experience as a Chef
- Experience in Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza preparation will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability of working evenings, weekends and public holidays.

- Salary: $79,000 – $83,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience.
Pay: $79,000.00 – $83,000.00 per year
