Title: Video Editor / Videographer (In-House)

About Kanister Kanister started in 2021 as a video production company and has grown into a full-service Brisbane marketing agency. Video remains at the core of everything we produce, for our clients and our own brand.
The role We're hiring an in-house Video Editor/Videographer. Editing is the heart of this role, backed by solid shooting skills. The work runs in two lanes:
Social content (your day-to-day): shoot and edit short-form social videos autonomously. Our social media account manager sets the content plans and handles clients. You bring them to life on camera and in the edit, managing your own workflow from brief to publish.
Corporate and brand videos: primarily editing. Larger shoots are led by our Head of Production. You'll support on set where needed, but you won't be expected to run big projects on your own.
You'll report to our Head of Production, who provides high-level direction plus hands-on training and skills development.
What you'll do
- Shoot and edit day-to-day short-form social content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, working from the account manager's content plans
- Edit corporate, brand, and campaign videos to a polished, client-ready standard
- Assist on larger shoots led by the Head of Production
- Manage your own day-to-day production workflow, gear, and deadlines
What you'll bring
- Strong editing skills first. We edit in DaVinci Resolve (experience preferred, but strong editors from Premiere or similar can cross over), and you'll need a great sense of pacing, story, and platform style
- Good videography fundamentals: camera, lighting, and audio solid enough to shoot social content independently
- A strong portfolio/showreel, the first thing we assess
- Platform fluency: you know what works on social and why
- Openness to learning. You don't need to have mastered everything; our Head of Production will train and mentor you, and you'll be expected to adapt to our established production workflow
- Based in Brisbane or able to work on-site
- Big bonus: strong photography skills
