The WannaBe Engagement Officer plays a vital role in connecting families, schools, and key education providers to enhance early childhood development and educational readiness. This position emphasizes support for families, aiming to improve literacy and numeracy skills, as well as facilitating successful transitions to further education.
The role involves building capacity within family units through case management and delivering culturally responsive programs tailored to the needs of the community.

- Qualifications in Education, Family Support, or Welfare Studies, or willingness to pursue relevant qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable families.
- Strong understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, particularly concerning childhood development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Qld Drivers Licence, Working with Children Blue Card, Current Federal Police Check (completed in the last 4 weeks) OR ability to obtain prior to commencement.
The successful candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to quality improvement processes and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A current 'C' Class Driver's License and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card are essential.
