Assistant Manager role (such as the recent position at Jindabyne Station), the job is typically a second-in-charge leadership position supporting the Station Manager and overseeing day-to-day cattle and property operations.
Typical responsibilities:
Manage daily station or farm operations.
Lead livestock programs, including cattle handling, processing, and animal health.
Monitor stock performance, growth rates, and condition.
Maintain livestock records and compliance documentation.
Supervise and mentor station staff.
Assist with land, pasture, and environmental management.
Coordinate mustering, fencing, water infrastructure, and maintenance.
Operate and oversee machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
Act in the Station Manager's role when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
Previous leadership experience on a cattle station or large farm.
Strong cattle handling and husbandry skills.
Experience with machinery operation and maintenance.
Good communication and record-keeping abilities.
Commitment to workplace safety and animal welfare.
Driver's licence; additional licences may be advantageous.
Pay: $7,500.00 – $8,333.00 per month
