One Voice WeKare Foundation Inc is seeking a passionate and community-focused individual to coordinate and deliver youth programs for young people in Tennant Creek and Ali Curung.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of working respectfully with Aboriginal communities and is committed to creating positive opportunities for young people.
About the Role
You will:
- Develop and deliver youth engagement programs and activities.
- Build partnerships with local organisations, including Barkly Regional Council and other youth service providers.
- Organise community and fundraising events.
- Support young people through recreational, educational, cultural and wellbeing activities.
- Coordinate and deliver school holiday programs.
- Work closely with community members, families and Elders to ensure programs are culturally safe and responsive.
Employment Details
- $45 per hour
- 16 hours per fortnight (4 days every 2 weeks) during school terms.
- Additional hours available during school holidays for delivery of holiday programs.
- Immediate start available.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with young people and communities.
- Strong understanding of and respect for Aboriginal culture, values and community protocols.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Ochre Card (or ability to obtain one).
- National Police Check (or ability to obtain one).
