Join our team as a Venue and Recreation Officer, where you'll be the key connection between our community and Council's recreational facilities, coordinating bookings, supporting events, and creating positive customer experiences across parks, sporting fields and venues.
About The Role
The Venue and Recreation Officer are the first point of contact for customers enquiring about and hiring Council's venues, parks, sporting fields and recreational facilities.
In this customer-focused role, you will coordinate bookings, manage enquiries, support events and work closely with community groups, sporting clubs and internal stakeholders to maximise community access to Council's recreational assets.
Key focus areas:
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to enquiries relating to Council venues, parks, sporting fields and recreational facilities.
- Coordinate venue and facility bookings, permits, access arrangements and customer communications.
- Develop positive relationships with community groups, sporting clubs, event organisers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage customer communications across phone, email and other platforms.
- Provide administrative support including invoicing, records management, permit administration and reporting.
About You
We're looking for a customer-focused and organised professional who enjoys working with people and delivering positive community outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Experience in a customer service role within venues, recreation, community services, events, facilities or a similar environment.
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and booking, content management or similar business systems.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required to support events and venue operations.
What We Offer
- Salary from $72,987.47 to $84,562.01 gross per annum, plus 12% superannuation
- Temporary full-time role (35 hours per week), up to 6 February 2027
