We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Night Shift Operations Manager to lead our night shift operations at Webb Dock. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring freight is safely processed, loaded and dispatched while driving operational performance, safety and customer service throughout the shift.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Night Shift Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all night shift operations, leading operational teams and ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement of freight across the Strait Link network.
You will provide leadership across the team, coordinating labour, fleet and equipment resources, managing operational issues as they arise, and ensuring a seamless transition between day and night operations. This role plays a critical part in achieving operational targets, maintaining service standards and fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all night shift operational activities to ensure safe and efficient freight movements.
- Reviewing pays and using Kronos on a daily basis.
- Manage supervisors and operational employees, providing coaching, support and performance leadership.
- Ensure freight is processed, loaded and dispatched accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor operational performance and respond proactively to service disruptions and changing priorities.
- Coordinate labour, fleet and equipment resources to meet operational requirements.
- Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), company policies and legislative requirements.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues while implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure accurate operational reporting, documentation and effective shift handovers.
- Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to support seamless 24-hour operations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity and customer service.
