The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Water and Waste Operations team on a temporary basis, up to April 2027. This is a senior specialist role responsible for providing expert technical and scientific advice across water supply, sewerage and waste management services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality water and waste services to the community.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high-level technical advice on water, sewerage and waste operations.
- Manage the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan (DWQMP) to ensure compliance with legislation and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
- Oversee Environmental Authorities for sewage treatment plants.
- Lead and implement Trade Waste and Recycled Water Management Plans.
- Conduct sampling, analysis, and reporting of water quality parameters.
- Manage complex projects and research initiatives aligned with organisational priorities.
About You:
You are a technically capable and solutions-focused professional with strong experience operating in a complex regulatory environment. You bring sound environmental and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Science (or equivalent) and/or relevant significant experience;
- Strong understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; and
- A current motor vehicle drivers licence.
