The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker or Nurse to assist a female participant living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Hawthorn East, VIC.
This is a high-intensity support role, ideal for someone with prior experience in MS care, mobility assistance, or clinical nursing.
The successful applicant will be compassionate, reliable, and professional, offering both physical and emotional support to promote the participant’s comfort, dignity, and independence.
Participant Overview:
- Female participant residing in Hawthorn East, VIC
- Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) – requires high-intensity daily support
- Looking for a calm, understanding, and skilled worker or nurse
- Values consistency, trust, and communication
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality personal and clinical care
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and hygiene support
- Administer medications (if qualified) and monitor wellbeing
- Support daily routines and comfort with patience and empathy
- Communicate effectively with the participant’s family and care team
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards
Work Hours:
- Location: Hawthorn East, VIC
- Schedule: Approx. 6–20 hours per week, casual position with flexible days and times
Remuneration:
- AU$38.00 – AU$42.00 per hour (+ Superannuation)
- Paid fortnightly
- Travel allowance available if required
Preferred Qualities:
- Prior experience supporting clients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Calm, caring, and attentive approach to high-intensity needs
- Strong communication and reliability
- Able to work independently and maintain professional boundaries
Eligibility Criteria:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check (within last 12 months)
- First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009)
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services (minimum requirement for support workers)
- AHPRA Registration (for RNs/ENs preferred but not essential)
- Right to work in Australia
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (preferred)
