THE ROLE:
We are seeking applications from Environmental Engineers with previous Tailings experience to join our Perth-based team. The role would offer you the ability to grow your career with a strong technical team around you offering support and mentoring.
Reporting to Principal Engineers, the Environmental Engineer will assist in assessing the impact of engineering activities on water and soil, and support the planning and design of systems and processes for the treatment, control and safe disposal of waste materials. The role will also contribute to identifying and assessing environmental issues that may create long-term impacts, and to developing practical engineering solutions to address them.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to further develop technical capability within a strong multidisciplinary team, with support and mentoring from experienced professionals.
RESPONSIBILITES:
The Environmental Engineer will assist with:
- Assessing the impact of engineering projects on water balance analysis, soil conditions and the wider environment.
- Supporting the planning and design of engineering systems and processes for waste treatment, pollution control and safe disposal of waste materials.
- Assisting with site inspections, monitoring programs and data analysis.
- Contributing to environmental impact assessments, technical studies and risk assessments.
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, specifications and engineering documentation.
- Supporting project teams to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation, standards and approval conditions.
- Liaising with internal teams, clients and stakeholders to support the delivery of environmental engineering outcomes within time and budget constraints.
To be successful in the role you will need:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering with minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in the related field.
- Exposure to environmental impact assessment, pollution control, waste treatment, water management, contaminated land, remediation, or environmental compliance
- An understanding of the assessment of environmental impacts on water and soil.
- Well-developed computer skills, particularly engineering-related and office automation package such as GIS, Civil 3D and Rift TD.
- Strong communication, technical writing and reporting skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to travel interstate and internationally when required.

Expected salary range: $80,000- $95,000 per annum.
