Restaurant Manager – Canberra Airport
SSP Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead our team at Canberra Airport. About the Role
As the Restaurant Manager, you will take responsibility for the daily operations of the venue, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, strong financial performance, and high team performance in a fast-paced airport environment.
You will be supported by an experienced leadership team during this exciting new venue launch and play a key role in building a positive team culture and driving operational success.
As an ideal candidate, you will be a hands-on hospitality leader with strong operational experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding food, beverage and customer service.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Leading by Example: Foster a culture of excellence in service, hospitality and teamwork.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth, efficient and high-quality service.
- Financial & Commercial Management: Monitor sales, labour costs, budgets and operational expenses to achieve business objectives.
- Stock & Purchasing: Monitor stock levels, coordinate purchasing and minimise wastage in line with business requirements and budgets.
- Team Development: Train, roster, motivate and mentor staff to deliver a premium guest experience.
- Customer Experience: Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction and take action to maintain consistently high service standards.
- Compliance: Ensure the venue complies with food safety, WHS, liquor licensing and other relevant legislative and company requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with chefs, bartenders and front-of-house teams to build a strong, cohesive operation.
- Brand Standards: Ensure brand standards and reputation are maintained across all aspects of the operation.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- At least 3 years' experience in a Restaurant Manager, Cafe Manager or similar hospitality management role
- Relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Hospitality, Business or a related discipline, or at least 3 years' relevant experience
- Food Safety Supervisor and RSA Certificate
- Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations of a restaurant or hospitality venue
- Proven experience leading, training, rostering and developing hospitality teams
- Strong knowledge of food safety, WHS and hospitality compliance requirements
- Experience managing stock, purchasing, inventory, budgets, labour costs and operational expenses
- Experience with cash handling, financial transactions, sales reporting and operational records
- A strong focus on customer service, food quality and presentation
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on leadership style and demonstrated ability to build and maintain a high-performing team

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
