The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Design Consultant to join the Learning and Modernisation Capability team for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the Regional Head of Learning and AUSPAC Modernisation Capability, your role is to identify, research, design, and develop learning solutions that align with business goals, coordinate and deliver capability solutions for business ownership, and partner with various teams to build learning content to support emerging capabilities as QBE modernises.

Your new role
As a Learning Design Consultant your key responsibilities will include:

Design and develop learning solutions aligned to business capability requirements and strategic priorities.

Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and define learning outcomes.

Create engaging digital learning experiences using Articulate Rise, Storyline and other learning technologies.

Develop storyboards, scripts, assessments, knowledge checks, scenarios and supporting learning assets.

Apply instructional design principles and learning science to ensure solutions are practical, learner-centred and effective.

Build learning resources across multiple formats, including eLearning, videos, performance support tools, facilitator guides and learner resources.

Ensure all learning solutions align with QBE's digital learning and accessibility standards.

Apply consistent design standards to create scalable, reusable and maintainable learning assets.

Adapt content for different audiences while maintaining consistency in learning experience and quality.

Support pilot testing, evaluation and continuous improvement of learning solutions.

Leverage emerging technologies, including generative AI, where appropriate to improve design efficiency and learner experience.

Contribute to the ongoing evolution of learning practices, templates and governance across QBE.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience as an Instructional Designer, Digital Learning Designer or Learning Experience Designer. Experience in the insurance industry is preferred, or we will also consider those from banking or financial services. You will also have:

Advanced proficiency in the Articulate 360 suite, particularly: Articulate Rise Articulate Storyline Articulate Review

Experience designing and developing end-to-end digital learning solutions.

Strong instructional design skills, including needs analysis, storyboarding, assessment design and evaluation.

Experience working with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to translate technical or complex content into practical learning solutions.

Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning science and contemporary learning methodologies.

Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, paired with excellent written communication, editing and visual design capability.
