About the role:
The Retail Supervisor will lead and optimise the day-to-day operations of The Sewing Basket store environment. In this role, you will ensure that the retail staff, employees we support, and volunteers have what they require to provide great service to our customers. The potential of The Sewing Basket is fully realised with initiatives planned and implemented to increase sales revenue through local area activities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching and training to retail staff, employees we support and volunteers to ensure sales targets are met and to promote excellence in customer service
- Supervise the day to day operations of The Sewing Basket store to ensure a safe environment for customers, volunteers and employees, in compliance with the organisation’s policies and procedures and to meet regulatory and legislative requirements as advised by relevant qualified staff within Achieve Australia
- Manage volunteer engagement; including volunteer applications, induction and on-the job training as well as excellence in conflict resolution in all facets of store operations
- Provide support to the Sewing Basket Manager and other retail supervisors as required in particular with conflict resolution, with the aim of further career development within The Sewing Basket and Achieve Australia environments
- Provide customers with the necessary support to ensure that their shopping experience is a happy and satisfying one and that the focus of employees and volunteers is directed towards achieving good outcomes for customers
- Ensure store and stock presentation is always of the highest standard allowing for optimal customer experience and sales
- Ensure the timely provision of all mandatory reporting to meet training and WHS requirements
- Co-ordinate and support the management of stock, maintaining effective stock rotation in the store
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Experience in volunteer management and conflict resolution. •
- Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and working with people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of sewing, quilting and/or related craft.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
