Primary objective
Support the Northern Territory Police Airwing Operations Team in providing a coordinated, safe, effective and efficient
delivery of Airwing resources to the Northern Territory Police Force (NTPF) and the Northern Territory Fire and Emergency
Services (NTFES).
Context statement
Successful applicant must be prepared to be on call outside of normal working hours as required and must have capability
to undertake physical requirements of the position.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide accurate information and support to NTPF employees pertaining to flying operations and capabilities.
2. Support operations team in the preparation of flight schedules by the effective utilisation of aircraft.
3. Support operations team in the coordination of air transport of passengers, baggage and freight (including loading and
unloading of aircraft), dangerous goods or other sensitive cargo.
4. Provide support in the relay of mission critical information during search and rescue and other activities.
5. Assist in maintaining collaborative working relationships with various Airwing stakeholders, both internally within the
NTPF and NTFES and externally.
6. Provide support to maintaining the aircraft and facilities to a high standard of appearance and order including WH&S
requirements.
7. Other administrative and physical duties at the direction of the Operations Manager and Chief Pilot.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in aviation operations, including planning, scheduling, dispatch, and arrival coordination of flights in
compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations, including pilot flight and duty limitations.
2. Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
3. Proven ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic operational environment, utilizing strong critical
thinking skills.
4. A strong commitment to strict confidentiality principles and their application in operational environments.
5. Demonstrated physical capacity to lift and manoeuvre heavy items (25kg unassisted from floor to 1 meter high)
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with after hours on call requirements.
7. Possess a strong sense of discipline and situational awareness developed through experience in a safety-critical aviation
environment.
8. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and understanding of the functions and structure of the Northern Territory Police Force.
