Lead Disability Support Worker - (Casual) - Sydney, NSW
KOOKI is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Lead Support Worker to join our growing team.
This is a hybrid frontline leadership role combining direct participant support with mentoring and supporting other support workers in the field. You will work with participants presenting with complex support needs, behaviours of concern, psychosocial disabilities, and developmental disabilities across home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred supports in home and community environments
- Implement Behaviour Support Plans and therapeutic strategies
- Support participants to build independence and achieve their goals
- Assist with personal care where required
- Monitor participant wellbeing, risks, and support needs
- Provide guidance and support to frontline staff
- Assist with staff onboarding and shadow shifts
- Liaise with families, support coordinators, and allied health professionals
- Complete accurate progress notes and documentation
- Promote safe, high-quality, and consistent service delivery
About You
- Minimum 5 years part time or 3 years full time experience in disability support or a related field
- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours and support needs
- Experience in the developement of client care plans
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Calm, professional, and confident in challenging situations
- Passionate about improving outcomes for people with disability
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Driver Licence and reliable vehicle
- Full Australian working rights
Desirable
- Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Nursing, Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline
- Leadership or Team Leader experience
- Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans

Pay: $43.23 – $55.73 per hour
