The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The School has a vibrant Boarding Education, Cultural and Sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses. We have 1700 students including 300 boarders.
The Southport School is seeking a professional, service-oriented and proactive individual to join our Corporate Team. This is a unique dual-role opportunity combining front-of-house excellence with meaningful HR administrative support, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for the School, you will be the welcoming and professional “face” of TSS, delivering exceptional service to students, parents, staff and the broader community.
You will play a vital role in creating positive first impressions while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the School. In addition, you will provide administrative support to the People & Culture team and broader Corporate Services functions.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, initiative and compassion, along with excellent organisational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office & Reception

Provide a warm, professional and responsive front-of-house service

Manage the School’s main switchboard, handling enquiries efficiently and courteously

Welcome and assist all visitors, ensuring adherence to sign-in procedures and child safety requirements

Maintain the presentation of the reception and lobby areas to a high standard

Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including school holiday periods

Monitor and respond to the reception email inbox

Maintain staff contact lists and ensure accurate information is available
People & Culture & Corporate Administration Support

Provide administrative support to the People & Culture team and other Corporate departments across our Senior, Preparatory and Preschool campuses

Assist with recruitment processes, including scheduling interviews and coordinating logistics

Support onboarding activities, including preparation of new employee packs and induction materials

Maintain compliance systems and records for new staff onboarding and mandatory training

Coordinate staff resources such as name badges, keys, devices and access requirements

Provide flexible support across Corporate teams during peak periods
