Private Respite and Accommodation Services (PRAS) is seeking a compassionate, reliable and energetic Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting a female participant in a 1:1 Supported Independent Living (SIL) home.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and supporting participants to live independently while achieving their goals.
About the Participant
We are looking for a worker who can connect with a female participant who enjoys:
- Musicals and theatre
- Dance and fitness activities
- Community participation
- Developing independence and life skills
The ideal worker will be positive, patient, encouraging, and able to provide consistent support while promoting choice and independence.
Essential Availability
Applicants must be available to work:
- Sunday Day Shift
- Monday Overnight Inactive Sleepover Shift
Additional availability to cover annual leave, personal leave, and roster changes across our SIL and community support services will be highly regarded.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 support within a SIL environment
- Assisting with personal care as required
- Supporting daily living skills and household tasks
- Encouraging participation in fitness, dance and community activities
- Medication assistance in accordance with training and policies
- Completing shift documentation and progress notes
- Promoting participant choice, dignity and independence
- Maintaining a safe and supportive home environment
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Certificate III Disabilility or Community Services Qualification
- Experience supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Experience supporting people with Down Syndrome
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $43.23 – $77.81 per hour
