About the Role
As the Aboriginal Engagement Manager, you will be a key representative of Yarning Crescent within Aboriginal communities and across our stakeholder and referral networks.
You will play a critical role in building relationships, strengthening partnerships, identifying opportunities, increasing referrals, and ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access culturally safe services and supports.
You will work closely with:
- Support Coordinators
- Local Area Coordinators (LACs)
- NDIS Providers
- Aboriginal Medical Services
- Hospitals and Health Networks
- Government Agencies
- Community Organisations
- Schools and Education Providers
- Housing Providers
- Justice Services
- Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
- Elders and Community Leaders
Key Responsibilities
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral partners and stakeholders
- Represent Yarning Crescent at community events, forums, expos, and networking opportunities
- Strengthen engagement with Aboriginal communities and community leaders
- Promote culturally safe and inclusive service delivery
- Build long-term partnerships that create positive community outcomes
Business Development & Partnerships
- Identify opportunities for new referrals and service growth
- Establish and maintain referral pathways across multiple sectors
- Support strategic partnership development
- Assist with community engagement initiatives and collaborative projects
- Contribute to organisational growth and sustainability
Advocacy & Community Impact
- Support Aboriginal participants, families, and communities to access services
- Advocate for culturally appropriate supports and services
- Identify community needs and emerging opportunities
- Contribute to positive outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities
Strategic Growth & Leadership
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance community impact
- Assist with stakeholder engagement strategies and presentations
- Support Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) initiatives
- Help strengthen Yarning Crescent's reputation as a trusted community partner

Essential Requirements
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position*
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to travel throughout Sydney and surrounding regions
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal communities and culturally safe practice
- Experience engaging with community stakeholders and service providers
- Professional presentation and networking capability
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Highly Regarded
- Experience within NDIS, disability, health, justice, employment, or community services
- Existing relationships across Aboriginal communities and service networks
- Business development or stakeholder engagement experience
- Community development experience
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Business, Youth Work, Community Development, or related field
