Due to our continuous growth with new projects being secured, we are seeking an experienced, skilled full time Carpenter to assist our Senior Project Manager. We require a hands-on, highly organised problem solver who can assume responsibility for the current ongoing and new projects being secured by the company. About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for playing a key role in the construction and renovation of residential projects. This role requires flexibility as you may occasionally have to supervise and co-ordinate on-site project activities ensuring project timelines and standards are met without delays.
Job Tasks and Duties
- Study and understand drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedure.
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors and door frames and install structures and fixtures such as windows and moulding.
- Help erect, level and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
- Able to install joinery items to a good standard namely kitchens, storage units, cabinets and shelves.
- To be Able to operate tools, machines and other equipment and assess the quality of woodwork and materials required.
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
- Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
- Construct concrete formwork.
- Follow established safety rules, standards and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and follow project plans.
- Ensure qua assurance and Implement process improvements within the project to maintain excellence in project activity outcomes.
About You
- Qualified Carpenter (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent) and at least 1 year of full-time work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work to a high standard of finish.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within the broader project team and all stakeholders involved in each project.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities on site.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and drawings.
- Understand platforms like Project Management Software, Communication Apps and Cloud
- Storage solutions is crucial for more seamless collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Driver’s licence, tools, and White Card required
