Community Housing Limited is seeking a Casual IT Assistant to join our Technology Team and provide entry-level administrative, operational and technical support. This role will assist with day-to-day technology activities including user support, device preparation, asset management, documentation, data entry, technology projects and general administration.
This is a casual role based in Launceston, TAS. This role is ideal for a university student, TAFE student or school leaver looking to build practical IT experience in a supportive team environment.
What you’ll do
As a Casual IT Assistant, you will work under supervision and receive structured guidance and training while supporting the Technology Team’s objectives.
You’ll help keep technology services running smoothly by:

Assisting with the preparation, deployment, collection and storage of laptops, mobile phones and other technology equipment.

Maintaining technology asset registers, inventory records, documentation and knowledge base articles.

Supporting user account administration and onboarding/offboarding activities under supervision.

Responding professionally to basic technology requests and assisting users with common Microsoft 365 queries.

Assisting with meeting room and audio-visual equipment setup, testing and routine technology administration tasks.

Supporting technology projects through data entry, testing, research, quality checks and implementation activities.
What You’ll Bring

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent, with an interest in IT and a strong willingness to learn.

Ideally currently enrolled in or completed an IT or related course, but this is not essential.

Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications, with confidence learning new systems and tools.

Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills, with good attention to detail.

Ability to follow procedures, work under guidance and collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Reliability, professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a Police Check and any other checks required for the role. All pre-employment checks will be arranged during onboarding.
