We are currently on the lookout for a vibrant and dedicated Host Superstar to join our team at the brand new Comuna Newstead.

As a host, you will be responsible for welcoming and greeting our guests, organising the bookings, reservations and walk-ins, controlling the floor space and organisation, and ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience. A hands-on service is also needed from time to time. We are looking for individuals who are able to work well under pressure, have strong communication skills, and can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key responsibilities:
- Greeting guests and organising their tables.
- Organise the floor and control the pace of the tables
- Maximise restaurant seating capacity
- Manage bookings, reservations and walk-ins
- Providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Handling cash and processing payments accurately
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- RSA certification is essential
The host will also be responsible for overseeing the wait staff, ensuring that shifts run smoothly, and handling any customer complaints or issues that may arise. Previous leadership experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong leadership potential.
